8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop in GlasgowFrom Septemeber 4-7, the Bionic Aircraft team presented their interim results to the public on the occasion of the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop on Manufacturing for Growth & Innovation Workshop in Glasgow. Presentations were held by IAPT, TECNALIA, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and CENIT, on the following Topics:
- Bionic Aircraft - Enhancing resource efficiency of aviation through implementation of ALM technology and bionic design by Philipp Imgrund
- Repair of Al components by low temperature high velocity combustion spraying for aeronautic applications by Maria Parco
- Optimization of the Laser Additive Manufacturing Process by Beam Shaping by Tim Wischerop
- Innovative in-process and in-line quality assurance systems for additive layer manufacturing by Suela Ruffa
- Innovative workflow for bionic design and structural optimization of ALM parts by Jochen Michael
M24 Partner meeting in Madrid, SpainIn september this year the consortium will meet in Madrid to discuss the results of the last 6 months and to plan the next actions for the work pakages.
8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop in GlasgowA complete session of the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop on Manufacturing for Growth and Innovation (Glasgow, UK, 4-7 September 2018) will be dedicated to the Bionic Aircraft project. A comprehensive overview of the project progress will be presented to the audience by the Bionic Aircraft project consortium. More information can be found on the conference website.

AM Motion EventOn 15 November, Philipp Imgrund presented the Bionic Aircraft project in the frame of the AM Motion workshop in Lisbon, Portugal. The Bionic Aircraft consortium is actively participating in the network towards generation of new R&D collaborations (www.am-motion.eu).

BionicAircraft collaborating with AMOS and MMTech project
The BionicAircraft project is now collaborating with two other projects in the field of Additive Manufacturing, "AMOS - Additive Repair for Aerospace" and "MMTech - Innovative Manufacturing for gamma Titanium Aluminides".
On the occasion of a joint meeting held in April 2017 in Sheffield (UK), AMOS, BionicAircraft and MMTech participants discussed exchange of results and Joint dissemination activities related to their projects. The goal is to learn from each other's experience, enhance impact of the R&D activities of the three consortia, and to smoothen transition to industrial applications.
